Jason Lin, senior at Dalton High School, has been recognized as this year's winner of the Karen Lightbody Scholarship for his outstanding piano skills. The Karen Lightbody Kirkman Piano Scholarship is administered by the Dalton Education Foundation. It is gifted to one applicant a year and pays for the recipient's continued musical lessons.

Where did you grow up?

Dalton, GA all my life.

Blue Ridge

What were you involved in at DHS?

I played football and did some track.

Plans after Graduation:

I plan to go to college at Middle Georgia State because it is the best fit for me.

What do you plan to major in? IT

What have you enjoyed most at DHS?

Friday Night Lights

Favorite teacher and why?

Mrs. Minako Barry because she would give you a hard time but at the end of the day a lesson.

Favorite subject or class:

Math

What has been your great accomplishment?

It would have to be getting into college.

What has been your greatest challenge?

Working and being involved in school athletics while at school.

The one thing I'm most proud of is....

Having the opportunity to graduate.

Who will you miss most at DHS?

Mrs. Gallman and Mrs. Barry

I would describe myself as a class clown at DHS.

Something people know me for is having a big heart and putting others before myself.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Work out and run.

Person who has influenced your life the most and why?

My uncle Sammy because he reminds me of what my goals should be in life because he didn't have the same opportunity.

If I knew I could not fail... become a doctor.

If money was not an issue what would you do?

Give it to someone who needed it more than I did.

My favorite memory at DHS is...

Being around those I loved and cared for.

In 5 years I hope I become a successful businessman.
