Whether it’s inspiring students in the classroom, bringing energy to school events, or going above and beyond to support colleagues, Mrs. Sumner truly embodies what it means to lead with heart and excellence.
Our school community is so lucky to have educators like Mrs. Sumner who pour so much passion and dedication into our students every single day.

Thanks to a generous grant, our students and teachers are enjoying this brand-new puzzle table and sorting trays, giving them a relaxing, collaborative space to unwind, connect, and put their problem-solving skills to work during the day.
We are so grateful for the Dalton Education Foundation’s continued support of our school and students. ❤️🐾

Unfortunately, due to the impending weather associated with Hurricane Isaias, Saturday's Peach State Middle School Cross Country Championship has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.
This also means our Dalton Middle cross country season has officially come to an end.
While we're disappointed our runners won't have the opportunity to compete at state, we couldn't be prouder of the season they've had! Both our boys' and girls' teams brought home region championships, and our athletes have given us plenty to celebrate this fall!
Congratulations to all of our runners and coaches on a great season! Thank you for all the hard work, dedication, and miles you've put in.
Go Cats! 🐾

We are so grateful for our supportive school community. Thank you for showing our teachers and staff so much love as we welcome the fall season! 🍁✨

Dalton Middle Cross Country welcomed the region to Grove Level, and by the end of the afternoon, BOTH the boys and girls teams were bringing home BGMSAA Region Championships!
For the boys, Hammond Creek’s top five finishers were Mateo Prieto, Jeremiah Hall, Preston O’Ferrall, Marcello Martinez, and Gael Joaquin. Dalton Junior High was led by Tomas Espitia (7th), Matthew Howard (8th), Leo Torres (9th), Julian Ochoa (14th), and Dev Saiyaju.
On the girls’ side, Hammond Creek put four runners inside the top eight, led by Miah Real (5th), Jacky Ortega (6th), Aaliyah Shaw (7th), and Alexa Hurtado (8th), with Sophia Alvarado finishing 15th. Dalton Junior High’s top five were Emily Suarez (12th), Ariana Guzman (13th), Lena Haugen (15th), Alexia Gallegos, and Dani Perez.
It was a dominant afternoon from start to finish and a championship performance from our runners across both schools!
A huge thank you also goes to everyone who volunteered and helped make the Region Championship at Grove Level possible!
Two schools. One program. TWO REGION TITLES.
Congratulations to your 2026 BGMSAA Boys AND Girls Cross Country Region Champions!
Way to go, Cats!
