Dalton, Ga.β€” Dalton High School is proud to announce that senior Tasneem Issa has been named the school’s 2024 Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen. This honor is awarded to one senior each year who exemplifies outstanding qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their home, school, and community.

Established in 1934, the DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional civic responsibility and leadership. Recipients are selected by their teachers and peers based on their commitment to making a positive impact in their communities. As Dalton High School’s DAR Good Citizen, Issa now has the opportunity to participate in the scholarship portion of the program, which includes submitting a personal statement and essay for consideration at local, state, division, and national levels.

The DAR Good Citizens program is open to students at accredited schools in good standing with their state boards of education. Each school may only nominate one student per year for this honor, and recipients are eligible to compete for scholarships awarded at various levels.

Dalton Public Schools is incredibly proud of Tasneem Issa’s outstanding achievement and the example she sets for her peers. Congratulations, Tasneem!
