The International Baccalaureate program is a rigorous pre-university program leading to assessments in six subject areas. It offers a challenging and demanding educational experience across the full curriculum.

There are almost 1400 students enrolled at Dalton High School with grades 10-12 and more than 100 dedicated teachers and staff members.
The Fine Arts Academy recognized 34 students that completed the rigorous qualifications for the Fine Arts Diploma Seal. The Fine Arts Academy began in the 2019-202 school year featuring students from the music, art, theater, and film programs.

The Dalton Education Foundation (DEF) awarded Grants for Instruction to teachers at all ten schools within the district once again this year. DEF Trustees recently announced a total of 38 grants will be funded, totaling $56,797.71.
Melanie Franey, media center clerk at Dalton High School, is this year’s winner of the Dalton Education Foundation’s Dale Cook Support Educator of the Year Award.
Fabiola Miranda has been approved by the Dalton Board of Education as an assistant principal for Hammond Creek Middle School for the 2023-2024 school year.
Chad Jordan has been approved by the Dalton Board of Education to serve as an assistant principal and athletic director at Dalton Junior High School for the 2023-2024 school year.
Dr. BethAnn Browning will be the new principal at Brookwood School this fall. She was approved by the Dalton Board of Education at its called meeting last Friday. She is currently the assistant principal at Dalton Junior High School.
Matt Phillips has been approved by the Dalton Board of Education as the principal for Dalton Junior High School for the 2023-24 school year. He succeeded Missie McKinney who is retiring at the end of this school year.

Jim Wickes will be moving to Dalton High School as the new assistant principal for the 2023-24 school year. He has served as the assistant principal for Hammond Creek Middle School since July 2022.
