International Baccalaureate Diploma Program
The International Baccalaureate program is a rigorous pre-university program leading to assessments in six subject areas. It offers a challenging and demanding educational experience across the full curriculum.

The Fine Arts Academy recognized 34 students that completed the rigorous qualifications for the Fine Arts Diploma Seal. The Fine Arts Academy began in the 2019-202 school year featuring students from the music, art, theater, and film programs.

Pending approval, Dr. Tim Scott, the Superintendent of Dalton Public Schools, has been selected by the GHSA board of trustees to assume the role of the association's next executive director, effective July 1.
Dalton Public Schools is hosting 16 students, two teachers, and a school principal from the Helmut-Rau Schule in Mainhardt, Baden Württemberg, Germany from March 5th to March 20th, 2024. The exchange is part of the German American Partnership Program supported by the German government.
Dalton Public Schools is proud to spotlight the exceptional accomplishments of 12 fifth-grade students who showcased their ingenuity and creativity as part of the C3 Odyssey of the Mind Team. These talented students recently participated in the North Georgia Regionals Competition for Odyssey of the Mind in Flowery Branch, GA, leaving an indelible mark with their inspiring achievements.
The literary talents of students from both The Dalton Academy and Dalton High shone brightly at their recent Region Literary Meets, showcasing their prowess in various categories including essays, extemporaneous speaking, and dramatic interpretation. The competitions brought together students from across the region to compete in music, drama, and literary events.
The Dalton Academy Healthcare Science Pathway proudly announces the outstanding achievements of its students at the 2024 Healthcare Occupations Students Association (HOSA) State Leadership Conference. Five students from the pathway secured positions in the Top 10 in the region, with one student achieving a remarkable placement in the Top 5, earning them an invitation to compete at the prestigious event.
Laurie King currently serves as the Physical Education (P.E.) teacher and Teacher of the Year at Westwood School. Her inspiration to teach stems from a simple yet powerful source – the kids. Mrs. King cherishes the enthusiasm with which students approach P.E. each day, eager to learn new skills and explore new activities.
The Dalton Academy's 3DE Program, a Junior Achievement initiative, has achieved national recognition as 2024 Qualifiers of The Home Depot National Case Competition, placing Top 10 in the country.
