State Champions
The DHS Boys Swim Team claimed the 6A State Championship title in February of 2020 at the GA Tech Aquatics Center. This is the 4th State Title in the program's history. The team placed 2nd in State in 2021.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Program
The International Baccalaureate program is a rigorous pre-university program leading to assessments in six subject areas. It offers a challenging and demanding educational experience across the full curriculum.
Fine Arts Academy of DHS
As the high schools in the system progress into an academy format, the first academy was formed in 2019-2020 featuring all of the fine arts programs.

Dalton High School alum Cedric Haynes predicted his career in weather forecasting at an early age. From his role in hosting the recess forecast, to his current job as a meteorologist for WRCB Channel 3, Haynes’ credits much of his success to the drive given to him by Dalton Public Schools educators.
Dalton Public Schools has been named a CyberStart District of Distinction by the National Cyber Scholarship Foundation. Dalton High School was recognized as a Cyber Opportunity School.
When she was a student at Dalton High School, Gabrielle Nelloms didn’t know what she wanted to do after graduation except that she wanted to be on television. Today, just eight years after graduating from DHS, Nelloms has realized her dreams working as a cross platform associate producer at CNN in Atlanta.
