Dalton, Ga. ā Dalton Public Schools proudly recognizes multiple student-athletes who were selected to participate in the Georgia Middle School All-Star Basketball Games held February 7 at Prince Avenue Christian School in Bogart, Georgia. Selection to the statewide all-star event is a distinguished honor that recognizes top middle school basketball players from across Georgia based on athletic performance, skill development, leadership, and overall contribution to their teams.
Dalton Junior High School students selected to participate included Emani Jones, Aleāyshia Broome, Jaālynn Bonds, Melanie Moya, Nahla Jackson, Preston Robinson, Malachi Long, Sam Black, and Kyson Burse. Hammond Creek Middle School students selected included Ava Jackson, Tamera Love, Lyric Bishop, Emeri Kilgore, Jameson Cox, Elijah Jeffries, Xavier Black, Kyzmyn Phillips, and Christian Robinson. These student-athletes represented Dalton Public Schools among some of the most talented middle school players in the state.
Throughout the event, athletes competed in grade-level showcase games as well as skills competitions, including a 3-point contest, shootout contest, free throw contest, and layup contest. The games featured high-level competition and strong performances across each division.
In the sixth-grade game, Emeri Kilgore competed on the Eastern Team, which earned the victory. Tamera Love and Lyric Bishop competed on the Western Team, demonstrating strong teamwork and coordination throughout the contest. In the seventh-grade game, Ava Jackson contributed by scoring the opening points for the Western Team and facilitating offensive play, while Jameson Cox represented the Eastern Team in a competitive matchup against elite statewide talent.
The eighth-grade game highlighted exceptional competition, with the Eastern Team securing the win. Dalton Junior Highās Aleāyshia Broome earned Co-Most Valuable Player honors after scoring 17 points, distinguishing herself among the stateās top eighth-grade athletes. Jaālynn Bonds contributed from the perimeter with multiple three-point attempts, while Melanie Moya and Emani Jones made key contributions throughout the game. Nahla Jackson competed in the Western Conference matchup, representing Dalton Public Schools with determination and sportsmanship.
In addition, Hammond Creek student-athletes Elijah Jeffries, Kyzmyn Phillips, and Xavier Black competed in the Boys JV Game, gaining valuable experience in a statewide showcase environment against strong competition from across north Georgia.
