As we head into winter break, we want to share a quick update that will go into effect when students return to City Park School on Tuesday, January 6.
To help keep our campus safe and traffic moving smoothly, City Park School will begin using updated parking and traffic flow procedures. We appreciate your cooperation as we work together to make arrival and dismissal safer for everyone.
Important updates for families:
-Parents may enter and exit City Park School using School Street or North Thornton Avenue
-Vehicles exiting onto North Thornton Avenue must turn right
-City Park families may not use the Cyber Academy parking lot or drop-off area
-Parents visiting campus should park only in designated City Park parking spaces
-Car rider lanes and drop-off areas are fire lanes and must remain clear Parents may not park in these areas.
-Morning drop-off should be completed through the car rider line; please do not park and walk students inside
-Overflow parking is available behind City Park School on Jones Street or at the public parking deck located at 206 W. King Street.
Thank you for your continued support and for helping us keep City Park School a safe, welcoming place for all students. We hope you have a wonderful winter break and look forward to welcoming everyone back in January!

AND! PAWS passed the paw to his hip, energetic young cousin, PAWZ! The City Park Panthers got to meet the new face of the CP today at our pep session as PAWZ stepped in and hyped our crowd! We went from mascot to mascat and the legacy of PAWSitivity lived on!
The passing of the paw is a moment we will always remember at the CP! Thank you, PAWS, for your contributions to City Park over the past 25 years. You have represented the 405 with kindness, compassion, and inclusivity. You have shown us what it means to be a Panther. You deserve time to rest, and we are so proud that you have been chosen by the big guy himself to help spread cheer! We know you will stop in to visit every MEOW and then!
Friday, December 19 will be an early dismissal day. Students will be released at 12:15 PM. Please remember that there is no ASP on early dismissal days.
We will have our PAWS and Claus Pep Session at 9:00 AM on this date. We will recognize our PAWSitive Panthers for December at this time. Parents of those students being recognized will be invited to attend. Entrance for this event will be through the GYM lobby.

Remember that our Science Family Night and Glee Club Concert is tonight from 5:30-7:00! Come join us for a festive sing along, hands-on science activities, and some treats!

This assembly is made possible through our media center, funded by proceeds from our recent Scholastic Book Fair and the FUN Services Holiday Shop. PAWS appreciates the support of all who participated in these events, as the profits directly benefit all of our City Park Panthers!
We loved all that Ms. Debra and Mr. Ben did for us today during our assemblies! They customized their show today to address the essential questions that our students just answered through their Savvas Unit 2 in ELA that was all about living things. It was a fun filled morning!
City Park Elementary will be closed for Winter Break from December 22 through January 5. We hope all our students and families enjoy a safe, restful holiday season!
Students return to class on Tuesday, January 6.
Stay warm and enjoy the break! ❄️

🎄✨ Holiday Dress-Up Day Update! ✨🎄
City Park families, we have some breaking, exciting news to share!
Our amazing PAWS team has decided to add PAWjamas as an official dress-up option for next Friday, December 19! 🐾🎉
Why the change? Our fourth graders have been hard at work writing persuasive letters to Ms. Rhyne as practice for their upcoming ELA Unit 3 Project-Based Inquiry Task with Savvas — and let’s just say their reasons were so purrrrrsuasive that Ms. Rhyne simply couldn’t resist! 😺💛
So whether your child wants to dress festive, cozy, or in their favorite PAWjamas, we can’t wait to see all the holiday spirit across campus next Friday!
Stay tuned for the flyer below, and get ready for a fun and spirited day at City Park! 🎁❄️🐾

Through our Helping Hands Ending Hunger program, each participating family is receiving a crock pot, made possible by our Helping Hands program and generous donations from the American Heart Association. These crock pots were thoughtfully chosen to provide families with an easy, accessible kitchen appliance to help make meal preparation simpler.
In addition, families have received fresh and frozen produce over the past several weeks to support healthy meals at home.
We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of these outreach programs and the difference they make for our families, especially during the holiday season. 🧡

Our Student Council is working hard to stock our Clothes “CLAWSet”, and we’re kicking off a Jogging Pants Drive! 🐾
We are collecting new or gently used jogging pants in all sizes to support our students.
📅 Donation Window: December 1–19
📍 Drop-Off: Students can place donations in the collection box on their hallway.
Your generosity helps us make sure every Panther is warm, comfortable, and ready to learn. Thank you for supporting our school community! ❤️🖤
