We loved seeing everyone at Donuts with Grands & Friends! ♥️🍩 Our kids had the best time with their grandparents and special guests. Can’t wait for Day 2 tomorrow! 😊

Our 3rd graders were excited to take part in the opening of the United Way Little Library at Westwood! As part of their REACH class project, they’ll be responsible for keeping the library filled with books, clean, and well cared for throughout the year. Thank you to our community partner, United Way, for giving our students this meaningful opportunity to be involved! 📚

Fourth grade had a hoot today! 🦉
Students explored owl pellets and discovered what owls eat by examining real bones and fur.
Hands-on learning at its best!

Our Wildcats had so much fun watching the Jonas program!

Exciting Playground Upgrade Coming!
Last year, our students voted for a long-lasting improvement—and they chose a playground upgrade!
Here’s what to expect:
A complete playground renovation in two phases:
• Phase 1: The field renovation (starting this week!)
• Phase 2: Updates to play structures, blacktop, and more
As we kick off Phase 1:
* Shrubbery will be removed
* The two back swings and a defective slide will be taken out
* Construction fencing is up around the playground perimeter to keep kids safe inside the play area
⚠️ Please note: There may be some days when students will not have access to the playground during recess. On those days, we will provide alternative recess options to ensure students still have fun and stay active!
We’ll keep you posted with updates throughout the construction—watch for the amazing transformation ahead!
Thank you for your support as we make our school an even better place to play and learn!

Mrs. Lewis’ 4th Graders explored bird beak adaptations. Students attempted “eating” popcorn kernels, rice, and macaroni with chopsticks, forks, tweezers, clothes pins, and skewers for “beaks.” After cleaning up the forest floor, the students ate gummy bears for dessert without using their hands! Science is so much fun!! Shoutout to Ms. Satcher at Park Creek for the idea!

It’s National School Lunch Week!

Today we had a special visitor! Deputy Superintendent Nick Sun stopped by our Pre-K classes to celebrate Georgia Pre-K Week. He read a book to the students, brought books for the classrooms, and even shared some treats with our little learners. Thank you for visiting and making this day extra special! 📚🍎

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, Mrs. Smith’s Pre-K class enjoyed "marranitos", a traditional, Mexican sweet bread shaped like little pigs.
The pig shape is a symbol of good luck, so marranitos are more than just bread, they are a special part of Mexican culture and tradition.
Special thanks to Ashley Garcia and Canela & Crust for providing the marranitos for our class!
